Your Path to Confident, Safe Gun Ownership
At FTS Firearm Training, we specialize in helping new and inexperienced gun owners feel safe, informed, and capable. If you’re unsure where to start or feel intimidated just picking up your firearm — you’re in the right place. This is a judgment-free space where your journey starts with safety and grows into confidence.
Our training is designed with beginners in mind. We start with foundational knowledge in the classroom, gradually build skills using inert training tools, and then move into live-fire sessions. Everything centers around the Four Universal Firearm Safety Rules — not just as concepts, but as habits.

What You'll Learn
You’ll gain a full understanding of:
- How firearms work (including common terminology and types)
- Ammunition basics and malfunctions
- Shooting fundamentals like grip, stance, sight alignment, and trigger control
- Range etiquette and commands
- Safe, effective live-fire practices
- Responsible gun ownership and storage
- Defensive skills like drawing from concealment, engaging multiple targets, and shooting on the move
Whether you already own a gun or are still trying to decide what’s right for you, we’ll build a plan that fits your goals.
Who This Is For
This training is designed for everyday people who want to feel safer, more confident, and in control when it comes to firearms. If any of the following sounds like you, you’re in the right place:
You recently purchased a firearm — or are thinking about it — and want to make sure you’re starting off on the right foot.
You’re considering getting your Indiana License to Carry Handgun and want to understand what that truly means.
You feel overwhelmed or unsure about where to begin with buying, training, or storing a gun.
Your hands get sweaty just thinking about handling a firearm — and you’d like calm, real-time guidance from someone patient and nonjudgmental.
You’d feel more comfortable learning in a one-on-one or small group environment, rather than a big, impersonal class.
You want to be a responsible, educated gun owner and ensure you’re doing things the safe and legal way from day one.
Whether you’re brand new or just looking for a safe space to build your skills from the ground up, you don’t need to have it all figured out — that’s what we’re here for.
